Basketball ticket prices up; football revenues down

  • Rating: No Rating

All basketball tickets will go up $5 per game. As for K Fund donations they will go up also, approximately  $450 per seat for lower arena donors.  Student tickets will stay the same. The athletic dept  also increased their donation to the university scholarship fund, from 1.7 million to over 3 million

- On other note from the budget meeting is that the football revenue budget has been lowered by 2 million dollars... not a good sign for joker phillips...

I saw that...definitely not a good sign for Joker.

So my question is are they raising basketball prices to offset the fact that football is way down.

That probably plays into it, but I think they just wanted to capitalize on the success of basketball and squeeze a few more dollars while they are out the top. Plus any people who drop their tickets they can sell to a customer and charge them a one time fee for a new ticket holder. Turnover means more dollars.

I'm waiting for the Jurich plan where lower arena season ticket holders for basketball are required to buy football tickets as well to get their good basketball seats.
