Bennett has cut FL and has UK , Oregon and UNLV left on his list. He said he hoped to make a decision in the next 2 weeks.

Permalink Reply by ukforlife on May 4, 2012 at 6:12pm Fl may have messed up by not having a scholarship to offer and were going to have to shuffle things around to make room for another commit. What ever the reason It is better for UK. I believe he will end up at UK. I read where he was at UNLV Thursday. Scout.com says that Bennett is still not yet qualified to play. I would ask have all recruits qualified themselves and Bennett is the only one dragging his feet. What reason does Scout.com have for singling out Bennett? Your right Evan Daniels was my source concerning this subject.
Permalink Reply by C Dogg on May 4, 2012 at 6:31pm I agree with that about UK getting Bennett. It doesn't make any sense for him not to come to UK; there is a spotting spot just waiting for him with a front line of Bennett, Poythress and Noel.
As for other recruits' academics, I think they're in good shape except I've heard that Nerlens Noel has a little work left to do but that has more to do with him graduating a year earlier than expected. I saw one report that he has to take an English class this summer but I don't know how accurate that is.
Permalink Reply by Troy Mercer on May 4, 2012 at 7:13pm Man, I hope he gets qualified. He could really finishing this amazing recruiting class up. Between Bennett and Lyons, we could have a SUPER shot at putting up another banner. I would think with all the attention he is getting that he would try and make sure to get the work done in order to qualify and enjoy an amazing run in UK blue. If we do get Bennett and Lyons, those personalities meshing would be crucial in order to succeed. I believe Cal is the only coach that would be able to make that happen. So many players would only be here for a single season, and that would be a pretty intense motivating factor to be the best and hang no. 9.
Permalink Reply by ukforlife on May 4, 2012 at 8:40pm I believe when you are playing for Coach Cal that if you want playing time you do it his way or the splinter way. They learn to adapt and they get their minutes and they all benefit at the end of the year with a pro contract. Cal is as many believe the only coach that can get the ego's out of the way so that a team evolves. I am so looking forward to the new look on the floor. I am getting use to seeing new faces and different styles of play from these kids. It looks good for another season to come. GCGC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Permalink Reply by ukforlife on May 4, 2012 at 8:54pm A comment made by Bennett after his visit to UNLV on Thursday was " It was one of the best visits I've had"
Permalink Reply by Troy Mercer on May 4, 2012 at 10:25pm UNLV is definitely the other team we should be worried about. I think Oregon is a lame duck. ;) No way they get him. They're horrible just about every year. He won't get much pub out West. He'll be under the spotlights in Lexington and Vegas.
Permalink Reply by ukforlife on May 4, 2012 at 11:07pm Surely he understands that. UK gets much more media and TV coverage than UNLV or Oregon. He can be seen on TV every UK game where as occasionally with the other teams.
Permalink Reply by Kyle Stevens on May 5, 2012 at 12:07am I have a bad feeling that academics will be the factor on this one, not exposure or anything else and some how this will benefit UNLV.
Permalink Reply by ukforlife on May 5, 2012 at 8:19am Maybe the reason he dropped Fl in that Coach D may have shied away from him.
Permalink Reply by Jim Proffitt on May 5, 2012 at 1:11pm Bennett cut Florida because Bradley Beal will not be there (they're buds) and because the Gators have Murphy and Young.
UNLV is a threat primarily because of Anthony's relationship with Khem Birch.
My favorite angle on this story is that he cut Florida before cutting Oregon. If Twitterspace is any indicator, the Gator fans are EXTREMELY pissed about this. Love it.
