"Cayut fans?"

I read a lot of message boards in general. I've noticed that Cardinal boards often like to refer to UK as the "Cayuts." OK... I know they're trying to say "Cats", but why is a misspelling supposed to offend me? Is there some particular meaning to "Cayuts" that I am not aware of. As it stands, Card fans' inability to spell does not threaten me.
