I have never had any Earthly idea what that is.  I mean, I even know what a Billiken is, and a Hilltopper, of course.  Never knew what a Hoosier was though.

Hoo·sier

[hoo-zher]
noun
1.
a native or inhabitant of Indiana (used as a nickname).
2.
( usually lowercase ) any awkward, unsophisticated person, especially a rustic.

:-)  I read where they were first called Hoosier's but I still don't know what a Hoosier is. I know what a sooner is, I know what a buckeye is I know what a Wildcat and a Cardinal but a Hoosier I have no known earthly idea what it is. Good input on your part.  I like #2.

This is bad but maybe someone meant to call them losers and mispronounced it as hoosiers.

Good!  There really is no such thing as a Hoosier, It doesn't exist, a name made up that really has no meaning. A Hoosier just does not exist.

In a related story:

The State of Kentucky released a statement last week annoucing they they were going to open the largest known Zoo in the world.  The Govenor has reported Kentucky was putting a fence around Indiana.  This will be  attempted so the surrounding states can futher study this Hoosier species.
