I think this game will be less dramatic than the last time.
We win easily by at least 10.
Does anyone disagree? We've obvs improved since December.
Thoughts?
Let's hear the predicitions and the Hoosier hate!
I can't wait to hear Bobby Knight finally say Kentucky...

Permalink Reply by Aligned for 9 on March 18, 2012 at 12:17pm I'm hearing Vegas will open with UK as an 8 point favorite.
I know we can tear IU up, but will we?
The biggest thing I am worried about is playing with too much emotion or trying too hard because the players want revenge. Then we get into foul trouble and allow the game to be clser than it should be.
however, Jones has been playing bigger than I can remember, as is Lamb, and Wiltjer isn't a big liability on the defense side like he used to be. We have gotten a lot better than IU has.
I don't care what the score is as long as we win, but I would like it to be by 8 points.
UK 74
IU 68
Permalink Reply by Troy Mercer on March 18, 2012 at 2:44pm I couldn't have said it better. I think the guys, especially MKG and maybe Teague, might be a little too emotional at the beginning of the game in trying to focus on being aggressive. If we just play our game, the dunks and beatdown will happen naturally. Iowa State was pretty physical and the game still went our way. Zeller is good, but I thought Royce White was a tougher matchup for us. I think what we THOUGHT would happen the first time we faced IU, (kill them on the boards and lead throughout with a hopefully double digit win at the end,) will actually happen this time.
This won't be in Assembley Hall, and it won't be our first road game like it was before. We'll be ready, and it will show.
Cats-88
Who-siers-74
As a college basketball fan (not a football fan) I am so glad this matchup has come to fruition. This game is good for the game and great for both programs. It allows Kentucky to right a wrong that occurred in December and gives Indiana a top NCAA tournament game and its first Sweet 16 since 2002. This helps the game of college basketball by putting Indiana basketball back on the national scene and provides Kentucky a tough matchup in the tournament. I believe Kentucky will win this game but both programs win! This tournament has so far appeased all viewers. Those who believe the top ranked teams should advance and play for the right to be called champions and those who love to see monumental upsets, have been pleased. And to add the IU-UK rivalry matchup only fuels that fire. The sport and fans only win with such great games!
Permalink Reply by Jim Proffitt on March 18, 2012 at 4:34pm Indiana away from Bloomington? Indiana in Catlanta? Indiana with our guys so motivated to kick their butts on a national stage? Indiana after they struggled mightily to come back and beat VCU in the final minute? Indiana minus one of their better players?
Anyone who wants to worry about this game can email me directly. We'll talk.
Kentucky 84
Indiana 70
Indiana plays an old style of ball. They almost lull you to sleep, set a number of picks to allow their shooters to get open or dump inside. They also run to get quick openings for their shooters. Cats cannot be slow in getting back to defend the 3. Obviously things are different than in Bloomington. Freshman playing in a hostile environment, Indiana pumped to the max. We played like feshman, they played like the Pacers and still barely beat us at the buzzer. Jones was awol also. We are playing defense at a totally different level. Indaina has improved ut away from home they have not played very well. I think we beat them going away and our guys are pretty level headed and I don't think they will get overly excited. I think seeing the ESPN ads all the time reminding them will make their desire and execution even greater than we've seen so far.
Permalink Reply by Beau Gibson on March 20, 2012 at 2:20pm I like a lot of these 14 point victory picks!
You have to think, we almost have home court advantage at this point AND all the momentum. IU squeaked by VCU. If we play like we have the last two games, and don't take our foot off the petal, it could get nasty for the Whosiers. I'm bloodthirsty! Give me a 30 point demolishing!! Embarrass them so bad, they won't be able to say a peep for the next year. then maybe they'll stop playing that damn commercial on ESPN!
