At least the players seem to understand what his going on and taking ownership. That is a good sign and hopefully that maturity will pay off.
Good interviews with all three boys. Cousins did seem much more focused tonight like he said. I, too, am impressed that they all seem to be on the same page. They know they are struggling defensively and that they are not communicating out on the court and they know they really need to work on it. I think we are going to be fine in the end. They are young but it sounds like they are working hard. Proud of them!
I'm really curious to see what kind of perimeter defense these guys play against Rider... I don't think these guys will want to see three straight games of getting rained on...
I would be more concerned than I am if

1) Cal wasn't known as a defensive coach
2) we weren't so young and inexperienced
3) we didn't have elite talent
4) most important - if the players seemed to be arguing with the coach, fighting among each other, point fingers, etc etc etc....

However, they are young and inexperienced, we do have a defensive minded coach, we do have elite talent, and our players are taking ownership of their areas of weakness
