Hate to hear that for Smith. Guess going forward it will be Whitlow, with Newton and Towles as the backups.
Actually Towles and Whitlow will share snaps in this weekends game.
As a fan, I'm excited to get to see Towles and Whitlow. The positive part of it is that UK fans are excited about these two freshmen and we will get to see them play. On the negative side, I thought UK had a chance (and I mean just a chance) to win some games now. I thought they could beat MSU, Arkansas and Missouri. It wasn't likely but it was possible to win any of those games, with Maxwell Smith. I don't see how UK wins any of those games now. The offense will most likely struggle with 2 true freshmen playing QB. On the other side of the ball, UK will likely continue to struggle stopping teams. MSU will likely run it all day on them. Arkansas's defense isn't good and they're offensive line isn't good but with Tyler Wilson at QB it's unlikely UK can score enough points to beat them. Missouri is beatable but still unlikely for UK to go there and beat them.
Too bad for Dakotah Tyler. He had to sit out last year and now this. He was the hardest hitting safety UK had been playing.
If Pat isn't going to get the full time QB job he should be redshirted, let Whitlow start and Newton back up. Save him so he has 4 years left.
