Dear KSN family,
I am writing to ask for your prayers in this time. My name is Jacob Kiper and my wife and I are having a crisis. As some of you know, my wife and I are pregnant with twin boys.
.
Early Saturday morning (5/5/12), my wife's water broke and she began leaking amneonic fluid. As of Saturday, my wife was 21 weeks pregnant. Our target delivery date is sometime in mid to late August. My wife has been in the hospital since Saturday and will likely be there until she delivers our baby boys... for better or worse.
.
Our problem is that our babies have zero shot at survival if my wife delivers before 24 weeks. As of today (5/8/12), we are 21.5 weeks along.
.
My wife is receiving treatment to fight potential infection and contractions. 60% of women with my wife's condition will deliver the babies within 7 days... we're currently on Day 4.
.
On Sunday night, my wife had several contractions... and then they just stopped. As of 5:10PM on Tuesday, we've had no known contractions since very late on Sunday.
.
We need God's help to prevent contractions and severe pre-term delivery. If we make it to 24 weeks, we've got about a 50% chance of survival... and right now, I'll gladly take 50%.
.
My wife and I would greatly appreciate all of your prayers.
.
God bless and Go Cats!

We'll pray for him too! That God will soften his heart and allow you to spend all the time you need. Nothing in the life of a Christian happens without first going through our kind and caring Heavenly Father's hands. He knew this would happen before he ever created the heavens and the earth. He doesn't allow things to happen just to cause us pain. He never wastes an opportunity to draw us near and to have a great relationship with us. Have peace and comfort knowing that He loves you, your wife and the boys.
"I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you hope and a future." In my darkest times, these are some of the sweetest words I can hear. I hope they bring you comfort.
You have our prayers and we hope everything turns out good for you and your famliy!!!!!
Prayers and thoughts are with you and your family Jacob. God Bless.
Permalink Reply by Aligned for 9 on May 14, 2012 at 12:57pm Things appear to be stable with my wife for now. After going down over the weekend, her white count fluctuated up a slight bit this morning. However, the doctor was not alarmed by the slight increase. At this point, there is no sign of infection.
.
We have been told that we can go from no apparent problems to big problems in a matter of a few short hours... so we remain very nervous, but things appear to be going well for us.

And tell me your boss's name and whereabouts. "Want me to drag him outside? Kick the shit out of him?"

Permalink Reply by Troy Mercer on May 14, 2012 at 4:51pm Yeah, I think I can take her. I know she has all the "experience" to win; but as UNC showed us this year, "experience" won't take ya too far if your bones are brittle. And I'm hoping her bones are brittle.
Glad to hear everything is going well! You and your family are in my prayers and thoughts. May God watch over and protect you and your family during this time. I hope that everything continues to be well.
