Tired of hearing about UK's facilities

  • Rating: No Rating

I'm so tired of hearing all this talk about UK's facilities.  UK's facilities aren't that bad, are actually pretty good and are not the problem.  When the Nutter Training facility was brand new in the early 90s, UK had among the best facilities in the nation back then and some of the worst teams in the country.  It comes down to style of play, winning, recruiting, etc. Facilities help but I doubt very many recruits cross off UK due to facilities.   People are way overstating how supposedly bad UK's facilities are. Look at what James Franklin is doing at Vandy with the facilities they have.  He's selling the SEC, style of play, great education, etc.

This is why your post is fail.

UK Footballs recruiting room:

I was going to say and post the same thing but you beat me to it.

In fairness to the OP, I do agree that we/ this coaching staff/ athletic department shouldn't use the lack of facilities as an excuse for our continual poor performance.  However, our facilities do suck

Outside of a recruiting room. Our facilities are comparable to other teams in the SEC. Yes we need more suites in Commonwealth Stadium to get more revenue. But there isn't a bad seat in the stadium. The facilities on the upper concourse could probably be renovated and expanded, but there are rarely long lines in the new endzone concourses. I've been to many other SEC stadiums, while some may have history( UT, South Carolina, ) they are dumps. As well as Vandy and Miss St. all rank below Commonwealth. Now as far as the atmosphere inside. That is partly up to the fans to get up and get loud.

I'm beyond tired of the athletic Dept bellyaching about being hand tied by the state. Spend the money the football team makes on football instead of making Potsie the highest paid women's coach. If the athletic dept would put serious money into the football program (more suites, recruiting room, better head coaches and position coaches) then the donors would feel the administration was serious about football and would be interested in putting big money into the program.
