Thumbs up/Thumbs down - South Carolina edition

Thumbs up

1. Patrick Patterson: Patterson appeared nearly unstoppable today. He had 28 points while still missing a number a shots he would usually make with a healthy middle finger. He added 7 rebounds, 2 blocked shots and 3 assists.

2. Perry Stevenson: Stevenson missed two free throws at the end of the game that set the stage for the South Carolina victory. Nevertheless, he played a great game up until that point. Four of five from floor, four… Continue

Thumbs Up/Thumbs Down-UK vs. Ole Miss

In the two previous games against Auburn and Alabama, Kentucky came out sluggish, yet were able to overcome their sloppy play for victories. That wasn't the case Tuesday as the Cats-and in particular Jodie Meeks-never got it going in an 85-80 loss at Mississippi.

UK Survives Another Road Experience at Bama

One of the oldest sayings in sports is: "If you can play poorly on the road, yet still win, you've got a pretty good team."

It looks as though this year's UK Wildcat basketball team is proving that statement out to be gospel as they work their way through the SEC early in the conference season. Don't think I've ever seen a UK… Continue

Thumbs Up/Thumbs Down-UK vs. Alabama

The Cats once again came out of the gate sluggish and without focus on the road at Alabama. Luckily, the defense and toughness was still there, and the Cats come out with a hard fought 61-51 victory in Coleman Coliseum.

Thumbs Up/Thumbs Down-Auburn vs. Kentucky

Despite a lack of focus from the get go and 22 turnovers, Kentucky was able to gut out a 73-64 victory over Auburn Wednesday night. Patrick Patterson and Jodie Meeks once again led the way as the Cats improve to 15-4 overall and 4-0 in the SEC.

What's that ole saying, "The more things change, the more they stay the same." Looks like that is happening right before our eyes as we go through the 2008-09 SEC basketball season.

Kentucky basketball is slowly creeping back into that role of being the Kingpin of the SEC.

It's taken Billy Gillispie and his old school Texas… Continue
