Thumbs Up, Thumbs Down: LSU Edition

A disheartening loss altogether, 'Cats fans. I thought if they won this one, an NCAA Tournament berth was assured. Alas, it was not to be, and the Wildcats have more work to do.

Thumbs Up-

Patrick Patterson- 12/17 from the field for 28 points and 9 rebounds. What is it with huge performances in losing efforts? Patrick toyed with Chris Johnson and Quintin Thornton, neither of whom could shackle Kentucky's premier post man. Patterson brought his usual… Continue

Pitiful....Pitiful.....Pitiful

One of my good friends and loyal Kentucky fan usually calls me after a bad UK basketball or football game and simply sums up the Cats play with 3 words from good ol' Jed Clampet, "PITIFUL, PITIFUL, PITIFUL!"

The calls are getting more frequent, almost weekly, and I don't like it.

I don't like the "state of UK basketball". The University of Kentucky doesn't lose by nearly 30 points to anybody. UK doesn't lose back-to-back SEC home games. UK doesn't get bounced in the first… Continue

Thumbs Up/Thumbs Down-UK vs. South Carolina

Should Kentucky fans begin to expect a game or two like this every year? Last season, Vanderbilt demolished the Cats in Nashville, and tonight South Carolina had it's way with the Cats on their way to a 77-59 win in Columbia.

Thumbs Up

I made an honest effort to find something positive that we could all take out of this game. There is nothing. Patrick Patterson finished with 28 points and 12 boards, but the effort was futile and most of those points and… Continue

Patterson Back In Lineup - Cats Look To Future

Ira D. Combs

Syndicated Columnist

Tri State Sports Media Service Inc.

Patrick Patterson, UK's mega-talented 6' 9" sophomore, was back in the lineup last Saturday against the orange clad Vols at Rupp Arena and his presence was obvious in the 77-58 win for the Cats when compared to the Tuesday night's loss at Vanderbilt. Patterson led UK in scoring with 19 points and added six rebounds to the cause as well. More… Continue

March Madness Begins This Week In Kentucky

The Eastern Kentucky sports fans favorite time of year has once again arrived, I'm talking about "March Madness".

If you've ever been directly involved like I have, you can tell by the smell in the air and the electricity surrounding the small towns across the mountains; and this particular year it should help cure some recent hard… Continue

Thumbs Up/Thumbs Down-UT vs. UK

The return to the lineup of Patrick Patterson and possibly the best performances of the year by Michael Porter and Darius Miller help lead Kentucky to a 77-58 win over the visiting Tennessee Vols.

Thumbs Up

Thumbs Up/Thumbs Down-UK vs. Vanderbilt

The Kentucky-Vanderbilt series used to be heavily slanted in favor of the Wildcats, but after the Commodores defeated Kentucky 77-64 Tuesday night, Vandy has won six out of the last eight matchups. Jodie Meeks' 26 points was not enough with Patrick Patterson missing his second straight game.

Thumbs Up

A.J. Stewart Offense-Without Patterson in the post to put some points on the board and help Meeks, somebody needed to step up and fill the void. Stewart… Continue
