A year ago, Carmel High School quarterback Morgan Newton wasn’t even thinking about the University of Kentucky. But a trip to Lexington to the see the Cats vs. Cards changed all that. “We actually went to the game, to check out Louisville,” Newton’s father, John Newton, said “…but the atmosphere, the fans rushing the field, that’s really where it all started with Kentucky.”

Being a wildcat kid

I remember when I was a little girl at the Shell station on Stanton Way in Lexington, all the UK players came in off the bus. I met Kyle Macy, Sam Bowie, and several more. I thought that was just so cool. I was bragging about it in a kid you just think its the greatest thing ever. It just shows how kids look up to the players.
