Ready for the Redhawks?

“I’m anxious, kind of frustrated, antsy, I’m kind of nervous, I want to go play,” It wasn't Coach Brooks' opening line at today's press conference but it should have been. Do you think Coach Brooks is ready for the start of the season?

The Wildcats open the 2009 season on Saturday against Miami University in Paul Brown Stadium, but for the players, staff, and even fans five days still seems like a long time to wait.

Rich Brooks held his first press conference of the… Continue

Krystal Ball - Forecasting the SEC East and Some Bowl Predictions

Hello everyone and welcome back to another edition of The Krystal Ball. This week, I will be taking a look at the SEC East and making some bowl picks. Unlike the west, this looks to be a one team race on paper with everyone else trying to play catch-up.

1. Florida - The defending National Champions start this season where they left off last year, ranked Number 1 and the team to beat. Urban Meyer's squad returns some guy named Tim Tebow, you may have heard of him. Tebow is one… Continue

KSN First Look: Tim Patterson

Louisville Central's Tim Patterson is ranked as the top football recruit in the state of Kentucky by Rivals.com. Patterson currently lists Kentucky, Louisville, Arkansas, and Purdue as his top choices.

The interview is with Central head coach Ty Scroggins. We interviewed Coach Scroggins last July while shooting pieces on Ridge Wilson and Mister Cobble who starred at Central last year before enrolling at UK this fall.

Patterson and Louisville Central will be in Lexington on… Continue

Cats ready for New Journey

Rich Brooks and his UK football team are only days away from the opening of the 2009 season and another journey through the mega-talented SEC. Two and a half months ago, back in early June, I did an off-season column about where I thought this team would end up at on Thanksgiving weekend after the annual season ending debacle with Tennessee. I… Continue

The Krystal Ball - Forecasting the SEC West

Hello everyone and welcome back to another edition of the Krystal Ball. I would like to thank everyone who read and commented on my picks for the UK Football Season.

Next week I will do the SEC East and some bowl predictions, but for today let's look at the other division in the SEC. One that looks to be a three horse race.

1. LSU - I know Ole Miss is the trendy pick this season, but I look for a bounce back season from the Tigers. Les Miles' club had a "down year"… Continue

Get Out and Run group

I've started the Get Out and Run group for UK fans who also enjoy running. The group is open to all things running, but I'm looking forward to it being a place where upcoming local running events are listed. I've also started using Nike+ to log my runs so I'm hoping to find more UK fans to help me compete against other college fans in the Nike+ challenges.

To join the group, just click on the groups tab above, find the Get Out and Run group and then click "Join Group."

Fan Blog - Brett Favre Wears Purple In The Trenches.

“It’s an honor to play with Brett Favre”-Percy Harvin”

Oh my young Percy if only you knew. Brett Favre expects you to say that, he will also expect you to wash his sweat socks, rub his aging throwing arm, and possibly massage his buttocks as a pre game ritual. Then he will reward you by hanging you out to dry on 3rd and 8 with a bomb into double coverage, thrown well behind you at an almost impossible angle. He will then follow that with “you gotta catch that sh*t man!” Welcome to… Continue

Anticipation

It's been a long day at work and I'm tired. Is it a problem that while I'm doing my job, I think about UK basketball all the time? I think easily a minimum of 30% of my day is spent thinking about UK basketball. I just can't get enough of this stuff. My father would be so proud!

According to the reports coming out of the Nutter Training Center this pre-season, Michael Hartline, the 6' 6" Junior from Canton, Ohio, has secured the starting spot at quarterback for the opening game against Miami of Ohio at Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati. It's also becoming glaringly apparent by Rich Brooks post practice comments the… Continue
