Sam Maxwell- He got the stadium rocking with his interception return for a touchdown. Just another big play from the senior linebacker. Has had one of the best season in Wildcats history.
John Conner- Was carrying UT defenders all night long until he went down with an injury. If he stays healthy the Cats win, simple as that.
Monte Kiffin - Forced the UK offense to play the game UT wanted them to play. Make the freshman QB… Continue
That just leaves an awful taste in ones mouth to say, and the feeling of despair is running rampant amongst the Kentucky faithful. For one quarter century Kentucky has found a way to lose to Tennessee consecutive times, and there doesn’t appear to be an end in sight. If there was ever a year to beat the Volunteers, it would have been this one. Tennessee is in a transition season and comes to play in Commonwealth Stadium against a Kentucky team that is… Continue
I can't even pretend that I know what it feels like to be a UK football player right now. I can't even act like I know the pain and disappointment the Cats feel right now after losing 30-24 to Tennessee in overtime. None of us really know.
But I do know this - life goes on.
It's not like this UK football team will never get to play another game. They've got their fourth straight bowl win to look forward to.
It's not like this UK football program will never get to play Tennessee… Continue
Derrick Locke and Alfonso Smith talk about trying to snap the Wildcats' 24 game losing streak to Tennessee. Locke admits the Vols will probably have a swagger on Saturday, but if the Cats play a complete 60 minutes they could make history.
Kentucky's Randall Cobb was overlooked by the Tennessee Volunteers as a high school senior despite growing up just outside Knoxville. Randall admits to being a Big Orange fan as a kid, but now relishes the opportunity to play against the Volunteers.

Memo to our college football friends in Georgia: Don't blame it on "UGA VII".
He was laid to rest earlier in the day with official burial rights taking place at Sanford Stadium several hours before kickoff. The famous Georgia Bulldog mascot died Thursday, according to athletic department sources, of an apparent heart attack… Continue

Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of The Krystal Ball. I hope everyone had a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving Day and weekend. Last week was another pretty good one for me, going 5-1 (the only loss of course being the Kentucky-Georgia game) and 2-0 in basketball. That brings the record to 76-14 for the season.
A lot going on this weekend but the question on everyone's mind is..."Is this the year the streak will end??"
Tennessee at Kentucky---- (7:00 ESPNU)---…Continue
Rich Brooks - What this man has done is truly amazing. If this coming week is his last at Commonwealth Stadium he deserves every accolade you could give him. In September 2005 after falling to Indiana, I wanted him gone. I'll admit I was wrong. He has gone through challenge after challenge and made a success. With all the injuries this season if he wins Saturday he has to be SEC Coach of the Year.
NFL Legend and Super Bowl MVP, Doug Williams, is a close family friend of Morgan Newton. We caught up with Doug this morning on "SportsFirst Online in the Morning" and talked to him about his relationship with Kentucky's quarterback and his development from a youngster to SEC signal caller.… Continue
The Georgia game was truly the tale of two halves and Kentucky’s inept offense of the first round was outshone only by Georgia’s inability to close out the game in the second. Many UK fans where probably close to vomiting after 30 minutes of the game, but all were celebrating after the clock read 00:00 and The Cats emerged victorious for a 34-27 SEC road win. Despite the win, I’ll warn you that this week’s analysis will not be too kind in parts, so brace yourselves. Of course this will be… Continue
Jerry Claiborne couldn't do it.
Bill Curry couldn't do it.
Hal Mumme and Guy Morriss couldn't do it.
Once again Rich "Papaw" Brooks has added another "first" on his ever-growing long list of "firsts" by winning AT Georgia 34-27.
WOW!
Time for me to eat a little crow. I boldly predicted that not only would Georgia beat Kentucky, but that the Bulldogs would have little problem covering the 10-point spread. What an idiot! I was wrong. I am glad to admit that I was… Continue
