- Offensive Line -
230 rushing yards; 0 sacks... that's some serious O-line work. I'd say Mike Summers lived up to the hype as a new coach. These guys just consistently knocked the UL defensive line off the ball the entire day. They also provided Hartline quality protection. Even more impressive when you think of the youth and inexperience on this line, 3 new starters were broken in yesterday and they lived up to the hype and praise heaped upon… Continue

I wasn't surprised that Mike Hartline won the starting quarterback job with Kentucky, but I was disappointed that Morgan Newton didn't improve enough during the off season to beat Hartline out for the job.
After the Cats win over Louisville, I now see why Hartline won the job.
I think this was one of Hartline's best performances as UK's quarterback. I think his performance last year against South Carolina down at Columbia before he got hurt was his best game. Today may… Continue

It’s all the rage these days. Everybody’s doing it. Peer pressure at its finest. And like almost all peer pressure mistakes, someone is going to get hurt and get hurt badly… in this case it could be tough times in Lawrence and Louisville among others.
Quick rehash for those of you investigating in Birmingham and not paying attention to rest of the NCAA Sports landscape: If Texas and Co. (UT, TX AM, Baylor, Oklahoma, OSU and TX
Tech) march off to the Pacific… Continue

- It's what the good teams do. Honestly, Louisville played a great game, with a great game plan, and if you can beat a team that is playing it's best at your worst, well than you have a talented football team. UK finding a way to win, when old Kentucky would have withered after the disasterous 3rd and took home an L is somewhat impressive. Even more that these guys came back twice in the 4th quarter for a game they had to win if they hope… Continue

Remember when C.M. Newton and Bill Curry stood alongside their Louisville counterparts, Bill Olsen and Howard Schnellenberger, to join forces for the original "Governor's Cup" and tried to sell us all on the fact that it would promote football in Kentucky by starting the year out annually with the state's premier college football teams… Continue
