Maybe the biggest news for this week is the signing of Glenn Pakulak by the San Diego Chargers. Pakulak who was a fan favorite at UK for his ability to lay a hit as much as for his booming leg. Glenn won the Mosi Tatupu Award as a senior at UK which is given to the nation's best special teams player, but has not been able to lock down a steady job in the NFL. The Wildcats picked up a sizeable commitment on Wednesday as, Lexington Christian star, Zach West pledged his commitment to Kentucky. West, who checks in at 6'5 and 297 pounds, is currently ranked #14 in the ESPN rankings and #16 by Scout.com at offensive guard. Zack was an ESPNU second team All-American as a junior and was elected to the Army All-American Combine. He is a candidate for 2010 Kentucky Mr. Football and a preseason All-State Selection.
After a very productive first week for several former Cats, Week 2 saw several players struggle to make an impact.
The biggest impact came from Jacob Tamme who saw the end zone for the second straight week. Jacob was on the receiving end of a 21 yard strike from Peyton Manning in the first quarter of the Colts game against Buffalo. DeMarcus Cousins wasted little time impressing his new fans in Sacramento. DeMarcus admitted to being uneasy in his debut, "I was very nervous in the beginning, I really didn't know what to expect, I didn't know how I would manage through the game, but it came pretty easy."
