Hello everyone and welcome back to another TKB. Last week was another pretty good one going 6-1 for the week. That makes the season record 69-12.
A lot of non-conference games this week and I am going to throw in some basketball too.
Penn State vs. Kentucky- (NOON ESPN3.com Tape Delay 7:00 on WKYT)- Well I can't tell you the last time a UK game wasn't televised live somewhere and I have a feeling ESPN is going to get a lot of subscribers just for this…Continue
Hello everyone and welcome to the regular edition of TKB. Last week was another good one, going 6-1, missing only the Game of the Century. The season record now stands at 63-11.
Another big weekend in the SEC, so let's get right to it.
Kentucky at Vanderbilt- (12:20 SEC Network/WKYT)- As the title suggests this is a battle of 4-5 teams trying to get to six wins. The Wildcats showed some signs of life last week under Max Smith, and this game will show…Continue
Hello everyone and welcome to another Krystal Ball, the first of two this week. With the Basketball Cats about to start season three under John Calipari, let's take a look at how the season might play out.
Last season UK finally broke the Final Four jinx, and with a 3rd straight #1 Recruiting Class and the return of Terrence Jones, Doron Lamb and Darius Miller, is this year Cal finally gets his ring and UK gets to hang an 8th NCAA Championship banner.

Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of TKB. I missed a game for the first time in three weeks, and of course it was UK. The 4-1 mark makes my season total 57-10.
I know I usually feature the week's UK game in the title, but seriously is anyone excited about the game this weekend. With that slight rant out of the way, let's get to it.
Ole Miss at Kentucky- (3:30 ESPNU)- When the season started I really thought Kentucky would be going for bowl…Continue
Hello everyone and welcome back to another TKB. For a second straight week I went 5-0, making the season record 53-9. Of course this probably means I will go 0-fer this week.
Some big games this week so let's get to it.
Mississippi State at Kentucky- (7:00 Fox Sports South)- The Cats righted the ship somewhat with the win over Jacksonville State last week and a sweep over the state of Mississippi could put Joker's squad ever so close to a sixth…Continue
Hello everyone and welcome back to another edition of TKB. Last week was a great one for me going 5-0 making the record 48-9 for the year.
Another Saturday, another big weekend in the SEC so let's get to it.
Jacksonville State at Kentucky- (NOON ESPNU)- After a bye week, Joker's Cats start the second half of the season with a game against the Number 8 ranked Gamecocks in FCS.
As the title says, this may be Joker's biggest game. With the fanbase…Continue
Hello everyone and welcome back to another TKB. Last week was a good one going 5-1, making the season record 43-9 for the year. As the title suggests it is a bye week for Kentucky which at this point is probably the best thing they could have.
Even without the Cats playing, it is still another big weekend in the SEC.
South Carolina at Mississippi State- (12:20- SEC Network/WKYT)- It has been another interesting week down in Columbia. Stephen Garcia was…Continue
Hello everyone and welcome back to another TKB. Last week was a tough one going 4-3 making my record 38-8 on the year.
Another big Saturday in the SEC so let's get right to it.
Kentucky at South Carolina- (12:20 SEC Network/WKYT)- Last season the Wildcats finally broke the Spurrier jink winning for the first time in 17 tries. You know he is going to be out for revenge.
It was announced this week after 12 years and about 500 chances, Stephen…Continue
Hello everyone and welcome to another TKB. Last week was a good one for me going a perfect 8-0. That makes the record 34-5 for the year.
Another huge week in the SEC so let's get right to it.
Kentucky at LSU- (12:20 SEC Network- WKYT)- The last time these two teams met, LSU was ranked Numer One and that worked out pretty well for Kentucky. Unfortunately this probably won't be the case this time.
For anyone looking for a glimmer of hope…Continue
Hello everyone and welcome back to another edition of TKB. It seems some team from the Bluegrass kept me from a perfect week last week. However 8-1 isn't bad, and that makes the record 26-5 so far for the year. Lots of big games this weekend so let's get to it.
Florida at Kentucky- (7:00 ESPN)- Ok we all know about the streak, 24 in a row the Gators have beaten Kentucky. But after last week's debacle, you would hope the Cats would come out like a bunch of…Continue
Hello everyone and welcome back to another TKB. Last week was another good one for the old ball going 8-2, making the record 18-4 for the season.
Some big rivalry games this weekend so let’s get right to it.

Hello everyone and welcome back to another TKB. Last week was a pretty good one going
10-2 with LSU and Ole Miss being my only losses.
There are a couple of big games in the SEC this weekend and oh yeah Kentucky plays it home opener too.
Central Michigan at Kentucky- (NOON ESPNU)- Let's face it, the Cats didn't exactly set the world on fire last Thursday night down in Nashville. The offense who played poorly will likely be without Matt…Continue
Hello everyone and welcome back to another edition of TKB. A big thanks for everyone who checked out the preview blogs.
The calendar has moved to September and that means one thing- it is football time. A big weekend coming up so let's get right to it.
Western Kentucky vs. Kentucky- (Nashville 9:15 ESPNU)- The Cats start the season playing in a city that many including myself think they will finish the year in December plus a trip to Vandy in…Continue
Hello everyone and today I will continue on with the SEC Preview. The focus today is on the West where the balance of power has definitely shifted. Two teams stand out but one of them may have a few questions to answer.
1. Alabama- (10-3 Last Season)- The last time Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide broke in a new backfield, they won a…Continue

Before I get into previewing the special teams I want to give a big thanks to everyone who participated in looking at the Football Cats, great job everyone.
On paper, the Special Teams look to be a big plus for Joker Phillips’ squad in 2011 with both specialists returning. The big question mark is who will replace Randall Cobb and Derrick Locke in returning punts and kick-offs.
Hello everyone and welcome back to another edition of The Krystal Ball. For those of you new to the site this is where I try to have a little fun and predict the outcomes of games. fun.
2011 begins Joker Phillips’ second year at the helm at Kentucky. If you had said before last season, UK would beat Louisville, finally beat Steve Spurrier and play in a January bowl game, on paper it would be a success.
However the Cats finished 6-7 and the BBVA Compass Bowl is not the…Continue
Hello everyone and welcome to another TKB. I was 4-2 last week and never so happy to miss a game. It is tourney time so let's take a look at who might win this thing.
For the first time since 2008, the SEC Tourney is back in what Kentucky fans like to call "Cat-Lanta." I think the first thing everyone should do this year is check the weather.
Remember three years ago, tornadoes ripped through Atlanta and even tore up part of the Georgia Dome.
Of course Cat fans…Continue
Hello everyone and welcome back to another TKB. Last week was a bit of a downer going 3-3 making my season record at 32-17, which according to Joe Lunardi makes me a 10 seed. Of course if I was in the Big East I would automatically jump to a 6 seed.
Anyway another huge weekend for the Cats so let's get right to it.
Kentucky at Tennessee- (Sunday NOON CBS) As some folks have put this one..it is the team that can't win on the road versus the…Continue
Hello everyone and welcome back to another TKB. Another good week for me going 5-1 which puts the season record at 29-15, which has me as an 8/9 seed for the tourney.

Florida at Kentucky- (4:00 CBS) The Cats will try to put yet another heartbreaking road loss behind them as they take on the SEC East leading Gators.
