Thumbs Up / Thumbs Down - Central Michigan Edition

Thumbs Up:

47- 10 run - After a pretty bad defensive start the Cats put the on the "lockdown" and took control of the game. That is a pretty amazing run and great defensive play I don't care who you are playing.

Landon Slone - Hard to be the "cigar man" when you play 24 minutes! The fan favorite played another solid game scoring 8 points and 5 rebounds and added 2 assists and a steal. More importantly he played tight and tough defense and led… Continue

Thumbs Up / Thumbs Down - Tennessee St. Edition

Thumbs Up:

"Steam roll" starts - 14-0 vs. Indiana, 10-0 vs. Appy St., and 15-0 tonight against TSU. I'll venture to say we will beat anybody starting that way. It's a vast difference to last year when we always seemed to battle out of a hole at the beginning.

Strong 2nd half - The Cats actually increased there halftime lead which they haven't done the last two games. It was nice to see them keep there foot on the gas and build the lead from 35… Continue

Thumbs Up / Thumbs Down - Appy. St. Edition

Thumbs Up:

Jodie Meeks - 46 points! 46 points! A new Freedom Hall record for UK and 6th all time for UK in single game scoring. The best part to me was that I didn't feel he was just jacking up shots like he was against Kansas St. , he was doing it with the flow of the game. Getting steals (4 total), transition buckets, and knocking down wide open 3's! Meeks also tied Tony Delk's UK record with 9 three pointers. He also improved from about 15th in nation in… Continue

Food for thought: Rondo, the best pick of the 2006 draft?

It's not exactly the deepest and most talented draft in history and it's pretty early to look back, but let's do it anyway. Thirty months later, it sure seems the Phoenix Suns got a steal with the 21st pick. Too bad for them they traded him away to the Celtics. Because now they are better than ever, coming off an NBA Championship and setting new winning streak records daily. There fiesty little PG from Kentucky is right there leading the way, but before we appoint Rajon as the king, lets look… Continue

Thumbs Up, Thumbs Down - MVSU Edition

Thumbs Up:

Bill Keightley Tribute - Classy. The uniforms, which were a complete surprise to everyone where a nice touch, the retiring of his jersey with the #48 as the number of years he worked at UK, to the playing of his interviews during the 1st tv timeout(no band playing, no cheerleaders, and most importantly no stupid sponsors, just 20,000 quiet fans listening intently) were all very classy. They did however lead to a very weird feeling in the stands, especially in… Continue

Thumbs Up, Thumbs Down - Lamar Edition

Thumbs up:

DeAndre Liggins - Perfect from the field and the free throw line to get a career high. Added 7 rebounds and 4 assists to have a huge game. His downcourt vision, finding Patrick for wide open layups and dunks was awesome. Stepped up huge with Porter out and showed he will be a big time player.

Kevin Galloway - Finally gets some playing time and makes the most of it. Had 5 assists and 1 turnover.

Darius Miller - Made… Continue

On the ride back from Knoxville it was suggested this column should be

Hard to argue with that, but here goes anyway...
