In sports one of the highest honors a player can recieve is to have his number retired, never to be used again. In Chicago there will be no more #23 for the Bulls, no #3 in New York for the Yankees, or #13 in Miami for the Dolphins. Just mentioning these sacred numbers and people will know exactly who is being discussed.

But what about at UK? Here at the University of Kentucky they don't retire the numbers, but the jersey's of the greats who wear them. But what if the they did retire the numbers? Who would be the very best? Would #24 be Mashburn or Walker? Would #10 be Dampier, Minniefield, or Bogans?

We here at KSN have often wondered who the very best were, so we have come up with:

#00: Tony Delk
#1: Cliff Hawkins
#2: Ravi Moss

CATS BY THE NUMBERS: WHO IS THE VERY BEST ?

Each day over the next few weeks we will pick a new jersey number and give you a chance to vote on who is the very best at that number.

Next Up: #3

Sorry I can't give Rob credit for anything...I am still annoyed about him ragging on my picks last fall....HA HA!!!!

I really need to get off my rear and do some more blogs....

I figured the same thing Rob, that he won't get his jersey hung because he only played two seasons.

I always assumed Rex never got the jersey hung because he left so early, but with all the problems that were going on in the program at that time can your really blame him. He should be honored.

Have to give Rob props for this poll! So is Rex going to be the easiest winner? I don't know maybe Dan Issel?

Does anyone remember all of the "Rex" talk that went around when he was at UK? One was that Lexington was going to change its name to Rexington. There were several others that I can't remember. Anyone remember some of them?

I have wondered why Rex's jersey has not been hung in the rafters at Rupp. He was a phenomenal player. I used to just love to watch him. No doubt which #3 gets my vote. He should win in a landslide vote.

wow this is a no-brainer...Brandon Stockton for me....

Just kidding...the guy wasn't known as "King Rex" for nothing.....

Major props to Mr. Gorham or whomever came up with it...this is a really cool idea...

Have to go with Rex... Has me wondering, I know he only stayed 2 years but should his jersey by hung up in Rupp?

Wow, but look at the company! My only complaint with Rex, if you can even call it one, is he did not stay four years, would be scary if he had!
