In sports one of the highest honors a player can recieve is to have his number retired, never to be used again. In Chicago there will be no more #23 for the Bulls, no #3 in New York for the Yankees, or #13 in Miami for the Dolphins. Just mentioning these sacred numbers and people will know exactly who is being discussed.
But what about at UK? Here at the University of Kentucky they don't retire the numbers, but the jersey's of the greats who wear them. But what if the they did retire the numbers? Who would be the very best? Would #24 be Mashburn or Walker? Would #10 be Dampier, Minniefield, or Bogans?
We here at KSN have often wondered who the very best were, so we have come up with:
#00: Tony Delk #1: Cliff Hawkins #2: Ravi Moss #3: Rex Chapman
Each day over the next few weeks we will pick a new jersey number and give you a chance to vote on who is the very best at that number.
JG, I had forgotton all about that. Wojo was one of my all-time most disliked Duke players ever. To make it worse, I still have to look at him sitting over on the bench beside Coach K. I'm with you on Turner though. I also liked Travis Ford and think he was a pretty good player but Wayne Turner had an extra spark to his game.
rphelps, you nailed it. Duke left Wojo on Turner when they could've brought Avery in off the bench to guard him. All time worst coaching move by Mike K - thanks Coach K!
