Krystal Ball: The Super Bowl Edition

Hello everyone and welcome back to another edition of The Krystal Ball. I want to thank everyone who commented during the thread I put up last night. I think on non-UK game nights we can do more of that. Last week was a pretty good one for the 'Ol KB going 5-1 again. Another big weekend in the SEC so here goes.

Kentucky at LSU--- (4:00 WKYT-SEC Network)--- The Cats have bounced back nicely since the loss to South Carolina and should keep it going here. The Tigers have gone from first to worst this season and are going to beat someone soon. But I don't think it will be the Cats. Any game on the road in the SEC is tough and I think LSU may keep it close for a while, but UK has too much.

Krystal Ball Says---- Kentucky 79-65

Mississippi State at Florida--- (1:30 SEC Network)--- The Gators are coming off yet another last secoond win, this time over Alabama last night. The Bulldogs look to recover from a tough loss at Vandy. I really think Jarvis Varnando will be able to dominate inside and will power MSU to a victory.

Krystal Ball Says--- Mississippi State 70-66

Auburn at Arkansas--- (1:30 SEC Network)--- Don't look now but John Pelphrey's Razorbacks are the hottest team in the SEC. After a 3 game winning streak they sit tied for first in the West. The Hogs have a favorable schedule coming up and should continue their winning ways.

Krystal Ball Says--- Arkansas 76-68

Alabama at Ole Miss--- (6:00 Fox Sports South)--- Both teams are looking to bounce back from losses earlier in the week. The Tide dropped a close one to Florida last night while Ole Miss looked pretty good in losing to Kentucky. I think the Rebels have too much talent and are playing at home and should win.

Krystal Ball Says--- Ole Miss 73-61

South Carolina at Tennessee--- (6:00 ESPN)-- The Vols have a quick turnaround after knocking off LSU on Thursday night, while Carolina has had a week off. This should be the best game in the conference this weekend and should be a close one. I am sure Devan Downey will have 30+ but I think the home team takes it.

Krystal Ball Says--- Tennessee 77-74

Vanderbilt at Georgia--- (8:00 Fox Sports South)--- The Bulldogs have played every one tough especially at home but has little to show for it. After beating Mississippi State on Wednesday, the Commodores remain tied with Kentucky on top of the SEC East. The potential is there for an upset, but I think Vandy will be too much.

Krystal Ball Says--- Vanderbilt 74-70

Nationally there are some big games over the next few days that could impact Kentucky's place in the rankings. On Saturday Villanova plays at Georgetown and on Sunday Syracuse plays at Cincinnati. On Monday Kansas travels to Texas.

If all those game go in Kentucky's favor, the Cats could find themselves right back at Number 1, just in time for the teams roughest week of the year, at Mississippi State and Vandy.

Oh yeah I like the Colts over the Saints in what should be a great Super Bowl. Colts 35-31.
