Fort Campbell will go for their third straight Class 2A State Championship on Friday when they face Louisville DeSales. The Falcons won last year's championship thanks in large part to quarterback Antonio Andrews. Andrews accounted for 368 of the Falcons' 401 offensive yards and four touchdowns, including the game-winner with 1:44 left to play as Fort Campbell won its second straight state Class 2-A title with a 26-23 win over Newport Central Catholic. Andrews rushed 17 times for 138 yards and two touchdowns and also completed 11 of 19 passes for 171 yards and a score. He scored the winning TD on a 59-yard TD reception from halfback, J.D. Ervin.

Andrews is 28-0 as the starting quarterback for Fort Campbell. This season, Andrews has rushed for 1,442 yards and 28 touchdowns and passed for 1,589 yards and 27 scores against just 6 interceptions.

Andrews has only received one Division-One scholarship offfer to this point from the Air Force Academy, but is starting to receive interest from Kentucky, Louisvlle, and Vanderbilt, among others. The Wildcats have had very good success with Fort Campbell recruits in recent years with Marcus McClinton and Micah Johnson both having very solid careers at Kentucky

Update: Antonio Andrews was just named the Gatorade Kentucky Football Player of the Year on Thursday. The award recognizes athletic excellence as well as outstanding academic achievement and character. Antonio is now a finalist for the Gatorade National Football Player of the Year award to be announced in this month.
