Hello everyone and welcome back to another Krystal Ball. Last week was a good one for me going 8-0, raising the season total to 36-5. My prognosticating co-hort Faith Ann went 6-2.
Unlike last week there are some really great games in the SEC so let's get right to it.
Florida at Kentucky- (7:00 ESPNU)- We all know the deal 26 in a row for the Gators. The last time UK won, UL won the National Championship in basketball...hmmm. Also the Number 1 song in the country was "Amanda" by Boston.
Onto the game, the Gators have been less than impressive this year and now starting QB Jeff Driskell is out for the season with a broken leg and Tyler Murphy will get the start. Their best defensive player Dominique Easley is out with a torn ACL.
The Cats have come close on several occasions and throw in what we like to call "The Joker Effect" I am going to say the streak ends.
Krystal Ball Says- Kentucky 24-21
South Carolina at UCF- (NOON ABC)- Right off the bat, the Knights are a very good team so this will not be an easy game for the Gamecocks. However I think Clowney and crew will pull it out, maybe late in the 4th quarter.
Krystal Ball Says- South Carolina 31-24
South Alabama at Tennessee- (12:21 SEC Network)- The Vols return home after losing to Florida for a 9th straight time and will have a new QB in Justin Worley.
The Jags are a pretty good club but I think at home UT will take it.
Krystal Ball Says- Tennessee 37-17
LSU at Georgia- (3:30 CBS)- The big game of the day in the SEC should be a dandy. The Bulldogs are averaging 38 points a game against some great competition.
The Tigers have surprised everyone with their offensive power led in part by QB Zack Mettenberger, who spent his first two years in Athens before transferring to LSU.
I think this one goes down to the wire but I am taking the homestanding Bulldogs.
Krystal Ball Says- Georgia 35-31
Ole Miss at Alabama- (6:30 ESPN)- The other huge game in the SEC this weekend. I have been very impressed with the Rebels so far this season with road wins at Vandy and Texas.
However going into Tuscaloosa is a whole different ball game. The Tide had a bit of a letdown against Colorado State after the big win against Texas A&M. I don't think that will be a problem this week.
Krystal Ball Says- Alabama 38-21
Texas A&M at Arkansas- (7:00 ESPN2)- The Aggies recovered nicely after losing to Alabama two weeks ago. The Razorbacks let one get away at Rutgers.
There could be a whole lot of points scored in this one, however I think Johnny Football's team will score a lot more.
Krystal Ball Says- Texas A&M 45-24
UAB at Vandy- (7:30 Fox Sports South)- The Commodores got a huge win at UMass last week and should have little trouble handling the Blazers at home in this one.
Krystal Ball Says- Vandy 38-14
Arkansas State at Missouri- (7:30 Comcast Sports)- So far in 2013 the Tigers have looked much better than I thought they would including a nice win at Indiana last week.
The Red Wolves have struggled so far this year under a new coach and I think Mizzou takes this one pretty easily.
Krystal Ball Says- Missouri 34-10
Auburn and Mississippi State have the week off. Thanks for reading and as always feel free to post your picks below. See you in 7.
