TKB: The Trying to Get Bowl Eligible Edition

  • Rating: No Rating

Hello everyone and welcome to the regular edition of TKB. Last week was another good one, going 6-1, missing only the Game of the Century. The season record now stands at 63-11.

Another big weekend in the SEC, so let's get right to it.

Kentucky at Vanderbilt- (12:20 SEC Network/WKYT)- As the title suggests this is a battle of 4-5 teams trying to get to six wins. The Wildcats showed some signs of life last week under Max Smith, and this game will show if he is the real deal or if Ole Miss was just that bad.

With a couple of breaks the Commodores could be 6-3 and are a lot better than their record indicates.

As much as I hate to pick against Kentucky, I think James Franklin's team gets one step closer to 6 wins.

Florida at South Carolina- (NOON CBS)- This game could turn into a battle of backup quarterbacks. Conner Shaw suffered a concussion but as of right now is going to play tomorrow.

John Brantley just got back from an injured ankle but hurt his wrist last week. A loss here would put the Gators under .500 for the first time in over 20 years in the SEC.

Krystal Ball Says- South Carolina 24-21

Auburn at Georgia- (3:30 CBS)- The second of an SEC doubleheader features the 115th meeting of these two schools.

The 0-2 start by the Bulldogs seems like a year ago and a win here would all but cement the Dawgs as East Champions.

Marc Richt's club should have its full compliment of running backs this week and I think they will win.

Krystal Ball Says- Georgia 31-21

Tennessee at Arkansas- (6:00 ESPN2)- The Vols currently sit in the basement of the SEC East but still have Vandy and Kentucky to play.

The Razorbacks still have an outside chance at winning the SEC West. I think the Hogs take this one pretty easily.

Krystal Ball Says- Arkansas 38-17

Western Kentucky at LSU- (7:00 ESPNU)- The Tigers are hoping to avoid a let down after beating Alabama last week.

The Hilltoppers have won five in a row and have a good shot at making a bowl game, but they are not going to win here.

Krystal Ball Says- LSU 49-10

Louisiana Tech at Ole Miss- (7:30 Comcast Sports)- The bad couple of seasons in Oxford finally claimed Coach Houston Nutt. Now the Rebels will play out the schedule and take on a pretty good Tech squad.

I think Ole Miss gets Nutt a win, a little too late but a win is a win.

Krystal Ball Says- Ole Miss 27-23

Alabama at Mississippi State- (7:45 ESPN)- Even though the Bulldogs are at home I think they are going to run into an angry group from Tuscaloosa.

The Crimson Tide are 15-4 all time against Mississippi and they should make it 16-4 on Saturday.

Krystal Ball Says- Alabama 24-10

Not too bad for the week...I think it is obvious Ole MIss has quit on the season.
