I have been talking to some people within UK lately and assistants that tell me that Liggins is looking really good in practice so far and continues to get better. His height, strength, athleticism, with point guard skills allows him to do things in the DDMO that others on the team can't do at the pace Liggins can do it at.

Putting Liggins at a wing position in the DDMO is allowing him to just make plays instead of making decisions and that makes a world of a difference for Liggins. He is attacking the rim in practice with authority and is unstoppable at times.

This is great news to hear and just adds to the depth and strength of our team this season. One assistant thinks Liggins may end up winning a starting position at the wing/sf position if he keeps improving. Rather he does or not isn't important. What is important is that he is moving in that direction and that is great news.

I really hope Liggins impresses a lot of people this year. It would certainly be ANOTHER nail in the coffin of the BCG Era... to see a player flourish under Calipari that floundered under BCG.

I saw Liggins high school team play in Louisville his senior year. Though he was capable, I thought at that time that it was strange seeing him playing point guard. I agree with Save. Liggins is just a "player" not necessarily a true point guard which means the DDMO suits him better than that High-Low motion offense Gillespie was running. I am excited to see him next Saturday at Cal's coaching clinic and first full team practice.

I don't think Liggins will be passing as much as he used too as a point guard. I think Cal is going to use him more as a wing player who just has to go out and make plays instead of decisions.

Cal spoke the truth when he said Liggins just wasnt suited for BCG's system or is it Bill Self's system. I felt for him last year seeing the frustration on his face. Liggins will like this better being on the wing cause imo its what he needs to learn to go on to the next level. With the great spacing the DDMO brings we will see many alley oops and great passes in the open court.

Its great to hear he is doing well enough to maybe start.

We all know that Liggins has incredible talent and I believe if he is given a chance to play through some mistakes he will excel. He will definitely perform better under Cal than the previous coach.

we need another wing player to step up. out starting 5, assuming its miller is solid. but i think there are concerns with out bench. if liggins can step up his game and be that quality guy then uk would be in great shape. last year he showed flashes of what he can do...which is fill the stat sheet.

with his development, it also forces guys like miller to step up his game. many assume miller is a starter and will do great. but he does have an issue with being assertive. now i'm confident it wont be that big of a deal this year but you never know. liggins however i dont think has that problem. he will attack and make plays and as a result might find himself ahead of miller in playing time if miller doesnt bring it regularly.

at any rate, its good to hear positive things on liggins. our fan base written him off way to early.
